We build these perfect plans for our lives. Not only do we build these plans, but we also build these perfect expectations around the plans, expecting them to take place.
Of course, we should all plan and hope for the best. We should all look at things with a positive outlook and we should manifest what we believe to be good for ourselves.
But – what some of us my not be good at, is accepting that the only sure thing we have in life is change.
Adapting to change when it’s not within your control, when it’s not part of your plan is difficult. How dare a situation, person, thing come a long and mess up the plans that we have for ourselves. Especially when we didn’t ask for it!
Maybe, just maybe, there is a greater lesson. Expect the surprises. Good or bad.
What can we learn about ourselves in a moment of change? That we don’t like it? That we are not good at acceptance? That we don’t want to agree with change?
The path of least resistance is flowing with the change. Fighting against what happened will not change what has already occurred. Fighting the past only adds stress.
So whatever it is – Losing your job, or even losing a loved one, allow the change and sit in it. Go through the motions. Be angry. Be sad. Be whatever it is you want to be in the moment and space that you are in. But – Don’t stay in a negative place too long without remembering the blessings that came from the moments that occurred before everything changed. Because another change is coming. And I’d like to think, if you’re open to it, that this new chapter is all going to workout for your good.
